In Age of Conan, the Assassin is one of the most lethal characters available for play. It's well armed with an arsenal of truly lethal combination attacks by reason that the assassin is armed with stealth, he can slip past many of his foes completely unseen. In other words, the Assassin is an unseen deadly killer, but before he can be effective at his trade, he must go through a truly difficult regime of training and study before he can emerge supreme.

The Assassin class falls under the Rogue archetype of classes and is available both to Stygians and Aquilonians.

Most often, its weapons are daggers and crossbows, which are very useful as weapons choices because it can Dual Wield weapons for better effectiveness in offensive combat. Focusing on stealth is one of its weaknesses. This is because stealth requires sacrificing the heavier armors for lighter silk and cloth. This class is heavy on the offensive but a little weaker on the defense end. It relies more on evasion and rejuvenation instead of taking direct hits. It can do this through such things as Golden Lotus extracts to Necrotic techniques, depending on how they focus.

Assassins relish close combat where they can inflict severe damage in a short time, but prefer sudden sneak attacks. They specialize in lighting quick strikes as well as devastating attacks from stealth; their ability to hide, move and remain unseen while hidden is the key to their effectiveness in battle.

As Assassins, the tremendous speed, catlike agility and dual wielded daggers as well allow them to pour out quick, relentless attacks, tearing opponents apart as quickly as possible.
